Mary was born in Liverpool to John and Maria, and baptised in 1849.
It is not yet known how and when she went to Australia, but in 1866 she married Alfred in Rockhampton. It seems that at least her mother has also come to Australia, as the marriage notice in the Sydney Morning Herald[1] refers to her as the youngest daughter of S. H. Mills of Rockhampton.
Together they had a daughter and two sons.
She died in Graceville, a suburb of Brisbane, in 1933; the death record includes the names of her parents
