Biography

JOHN LORENZO HANCOCK, son of John Alexander Hancock and Mary Elizabeth Medaris/Medearis, was born 1859 in Iowa.

John Lorenzo Hancock married 16 Feb 1882 in Davis County, Iowa to Martha Olive Coons. His parents were given as John A. Hancock & M. E. Medaris; her parents given as W. C. Coons & Julia A. Wallace.[1]

"John and Olive Hancock came to Custer County, Nebraska in 1884 in a covered wagon. They with her father, William Joseph Coons, William's sons Frank, William and Charles and daughter Nettie made this trip. John Hancock and Joseph Coons 'took land' near each other in Custer County."[2]
