John Hancock was a son of Thomas Hancock/Handcock, Yeoman of Corsham. It is presumed his mother was Christian Arch.
In the will of his father Thomas Handcock senior, Yeoman of Corsham, Wiltshire, the will made and proved in 1684, the Testator made a bequest of £50 to his son John.[1]
John was made a bequest of £40 in the will of his sister Christian Handcocke, spinster of Westwells, Wiltshire, the will made on 17 Mar 1684/1685 and proved in 1685.[2]
John was also bequeathed £40 in the will of his mother Christian Handcock, widow of Corsham, the will made on 19 May 1686.[3]
