Biography
Hugh Hancock is a part of US Black heritage.
Lost his mother and brother at the age of 5 and lived in a boarding house in Oberlin, Ohio.[1]
Hugh married Susie E. James November 19, 1879, in Travis County, Texas.[2] They lived in Bastrop, Bastrop County, Texas, where he was a school teacher.[3] By 1900 they were in Evanston city Ward 1, Cook County, Illinois, and Hugh was a saloonkeeper.[4]
He died January 21, 1910, in Idaho.[5][6] His burial location is not known.[7]
