Note N713Ida Mae had long dark beautiful curly hair. She died at the age of twen ty shortly after the birth of her second child, Lena. She and her husba nd, Leander Wyrick, lived just outside the town of Wytheville, Virginia o n a small farm. After her death, her husband left the two children with h er parents and moved to West Virginia and lived there for nearly twenty y ears where he remarried and had another family. He returned to see the c hildren that he had left behind and asked them to come to live with him a nd his new family. Lena went with him, Wag would not go. He stayed in B land County and lived with his grandparents, William Leroy " Lee" and M ary Hancock. Lena continued to live in West Virginia where she married a nd raised a family. She visited the farm on Little Creek and her brothe r, Wag, on occasion. Loretta Patterson.
