Mary Hancock was born in 1735. She was the daughter of John Hancock and Mary Hawke.[1] She was the sister of John Hancock, the first signer of the Declaration of Independence.[2]

Mary married Richard Perkins in 1760.[1][3]

Mary passed away in 1779.[1] She is buried in the Old Graveyard in West Bridgewater, Plymouth County, Massachusetts. The inscription on her gravestone reads:[2]

Here lies intered
the body of
Mrs. Mary Perkins,
the consort of Richard Perkins, Eldr,
who departed this life
June 21st 1779,
in the 45th year of her age.
