On 8 April 1892 Henry Gilbert Hancock was born to Mary Ann Heyword and Henry Hancock. ^[1]

On 26 February 1919 Katie Madeline Keane and Henry James Hancock were married. ^[2]

HANCOOK-KEANE. On Wednesday last a very pretty wedding was solemnised at St Ita’s Church, Rakaia, when Mr Henry Gilbert Hancock, Riccarton, was married to Miss Katherine Madeline Keane, third daughter of Mr A. Keane, Rakaia. . . . The bridesmaids were Misses Maggie, Madge and Julia Keane, sisters of the bride, and Miss Amy Hancock, sister of the bridegroom. . , . The bridegroom was attended by Mr Alex Keane, jun., as best man.

They had 3 sons and a daughter.

1. On 12 September 1919 [name not registered] Hancock was born to Kathleen and Henry Gilbert Hancock. ^[5]
2. On 22 August 1920 Henry Gilbert Hancock was born to Kathleen and Henry Gilbert Hancock. ^[6]. However, his death record conflicts with this. On 11 July 1994 Henry Gilbert Hancock passed away, having been born on 24 February 1920. ^[7]
3. On 9 June 1922 Reginald Condrey Hancock was born. On 27 April 1975 Reginald Condrey Hancock passed away aged 52, having been born on 9 June 1922. ^[8]

MOTORIST BEFORE COURT
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. At the Kaiapoi Court this morning William Albert Parsons, of Amberley, was charged with being intoxicated while in charge of a motor-car and by an act or omission causing the death of Henry Gilbert Hancock, a cyclist, aged 38. He was remanded till 7th May. Bail was allowed.
