Biography

"There appears to be three distinct families of Hancox in early Stonington records, only one of which can be easily traced back to the first ancestor who came to New England."-The Honorable Richard Anson Wheeler, excerpt from History of Stonington[1]

Benjamin Hancox, is the son of Benjamin Hancox, who married Eunice Stevens, daughter of Stanton Stevens, and wife, Mrs. Eunice (Hall) Short.[1]

He married Hannah Chesebrough though the date and location have yet to be found.[1]

Research Note

So far, this is all T Counce has been able to find, other than to say that this line of the Hancox Family is not the one easily traced as referred to by the Honorable Judge Wheeler. 03 Jul 2018
