Biography

John Patrick Leo Hannigan, son of Patrick Hannigan & Anastasia (aka Hannah) Keane, was born in about 1887 in Daylesford, Victoria.^[1]

John and Mary Caven were married in 1913 in Victoria.^{[2] [3] [4] [5]}

John and his wife Mary were living on Glen Eira Road in St Kilda, Victoria, Australia according to the city directory in 1916. ^[6] The Electoral roll for that year describes his occupation as 'sales'.^[7]

In 1917 John's occupation is listed as draper in the electoral roll and he and Mary are residing at her parents; residence in North Fitzroy.^[8]

John Patrick Hanigan and Mary Caven had two sons:

1. Kevin John Hanigan (1914-2009) ( 1914-2009)^[9]
2. Brian Keane Hanigan

John died on April 27, 1960 in Coburg, Victoria, Australia. ^{[10] [11]} He was buried in Coburg Pine Ridge Cemetery, Coburg, Victoria. ^{[12] [13]}

Research Notes

Son Brian's death notices ^[14] mention Patrick's brother Michael (the Reverend M Hanigan) but not Patrick - is he out of the picture by 1945? by divorce of Mary? Or travel? This is definitely him
