Ernest Hankin died in Military Service during World War I.
Ernest Alfred Hankin was born 5th October 1894, in Much Hadham, Hertfordshire, England & baptised there 18th November 1894, the son of Alfred Hankin & Martha Ann Martin.[1][2]
Following the outbreak of the Great War, Ernest Alfred Hankin enlisted in the British Army and served as a Sapper in the 2nd Light Railway Section of the Royal Engineers. He was wounded whilst on active duty and died 30th March 1917 at the 25th Stationary Hospital in Rouen, France. He was laid to rest at St. Sever Cemetery Extension, Rouen, Seine-Inférieure, France.[3][4]
