Biography

George was born in 1844. He was the fourth child, second son of Simeon Hankinson and Susannah Collingham.[1] George was a member of the Hankinson family that had a lasting presence in Ohio. [2]

In 1850, he 6 years old and living with his parents and 5 brothers and sisters in Pike, Ohio. [3]

In 1860, George was Living with his parents and siblings in Newton, Ohio. [1]

He served in the Ohio Cavalry during the Civil War. [4]

After the war, George married Maria (Griffith) Hankinson (1844-1910).[5]

In 1880, he was living in Newton, Ohio, working as a farmer. [5] In 1890, George was recorded in the Census of Union Civil War Veterans. [6]

He attended a family reunion in Ohio in 1900 with 7 if his brothers and 1 surviving sister together with lots if their descendants.[7]

He passed away in 1929.[8] He is buried in Wilson Cemetery, Newark, Ohio. [9]
