Biography
Joseph was born in 1847. He was the son of Simeon Hankinson and Susannah Collingham. [1] He died in 1924. He was a member of the Hankinson family that had a lasting presence in Ohio. [2]
In 1850, he was living in PIke Township, Ohio with his parents and siblings. [3]
Joseph was a private in the 10th Regiment, Ohio Cavalry during the Civil War. [4]
He wed Lodena S Hendricks in Cuyahoga, Ohio, United States on 9th September 1876 [5]
In 1890 he was enumerated in the Veterans census. He was living in Newton, Licking Ohio. [6]
In 1900 he and Lodena and nephew Frederick Hendricks (19) were living in Newton Licking, Ohio. He was a literate farmer married for 24 years [7]
He attended a family reunion in Ohio in 1900 with 7 of his brothers and 1 surviving sister together with lots if their descendants.[8]
In 1910 he and Lodena are living in the same place. His age is now given as 63 whereas that of Lodena has only changed from 53 to 58 ! [9]
He was a widower in 1920 living with brother in law James Hendricks and family in Newton Licking Ohio [10]
He passed away in 1924. He is buried in Wilson Cemetery, Newark, Ohio. [11]
