Turner Hanks (Luke II, Luke I, William, Sr., Thomas Hancks) was born 18 June 1737 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co. VA, and was likely the oldest child of Luke Hanks II and wife Elizabeth. Turner raised a family of 2 daughters and 6 sons; five sons emigrated to Kentucky. He died on 6 Oct 1794 in North Farnham Parish, Richmond Co., VA. [1]

On 4 Aug 1784 James Howard was granted administration of the estate of Turner Hanks.

An appraisal of the estate of Turner Hanks dec’d was ordered on 6 Sept 1784.

On 10 Aug 1787 motion of John Nash who married Molly a daughter of Turner Hanks dec’d. and James Howard adm. of sd. Hanks ordered Nash to have his wife’s part of estate.16 The estate of Turner Hanks in account with James Howard adm. 7 Sept 1789.

Turner Hanks was married twice. He and first wife Million or Millicent had Mary Hanks born 20 May 1761 and Hannah Hanks born 3 June 1767.

By second wife Sarah he had George Hanks born 22 June 1769, Luke Hanks born 17 May 1771, Rawleigh Hanks born 1 Apr 1773, Pitman Hanks born 3 Dec 1776, and Chichester Hanks born 31 May 1781.
