DOCTOR OBTAINS DECREE. Wife's Strange Conduct. Before the Chief Justice (Sir William Irvine) in the Divorce Court yesterday, Augustus lan Green, of St. Vincent's Place. Albert Park, aged 34 years, medical practitioner, sought a dissolution of his marriage with Hazel Maud Green, aged 38 years, on the ground of desertion. Dr Green in evidence, said that the marriage took place in 1914. In 1919 he was treating his wife for nervous trouble. She suggested that she should go away for a holiday. He agreed; and his wife went to Brighton for a month. At the end of that time he asked her to return, but she said she desired to stay another month He agreed to let her remain. When he went to bring her home a month later she told him that she neither desired to go back to him, nor him to go to her. She gave no reason for her refusal to return to him. The Chief Justice ordered that Mrs Green should be brought into court. He adjourned the case pending her arrival. In her evidence, Mrs Green said that she had no particular reason to offer for her conduct, but she did not wish to return to her husband. The Chief Justice, in granting a decree characterised the wife's conduct as "most extraordinary"
