Einar Weldfred Hansen was born in 1923 in Polk township, Shelby, Iowa, United States. He was the son of Danish farmer Nels Hansen and Martina Hansen.[1] Einar grew up with his four siblings in Douglas, Audubon, Iowa.[2]
In 1930 Einer (age 6) was living with his father Niels (age 44), mother Martine (age 35), and siblings Orville G (age 14), Myrtle M (age 12), Esther M (age 10) and Virgil L Hansen (age 2) in the same place.[3]
In 1940 Einar was 16 yrs. old and worked as a retail salesman at a grocery. His military enlistment in 1943 stated his occupation as: semi-skilled warehousing, storekeeping, handling, loading etc. He was single, with dependents and lived with his mother and three siblings. His father was working on a farm as a labourer. [4]

Einar enlisted as a Private at Cp Dodge, Herrold, Iowa in Jan. 1943. His serial # was 37653513 and the branch was: Immaterial-Warrant Officers. He was discharged in Nov. 1945. His rank then was PFC and his unit Serv Co 26 Tk Bn.[5][6]
Einar married Mary Delma Williams (of Iowa, US) and they moved to Humboldt, Iowa. They had two children; a son and a daughter.
In the 1950 census Einar (age 26), Light & Gas, was the married head of household in Audubon, Audubon, Iowa, United States. His wife Mary (age 24) worked as a clerk in a furniture store. There were also five lodgers.[7]
In 1987 Einar and Mary moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona, United States. There, they were very involved in Lake Havasu Baptist Church.[8]
Einar passed away in 1997 in Lake Havasu, Arizona, United States at the age of 74 yrs. He is buried in Lake Havasu Memorial Gardens, Lake Havasu City, Mohave County, Arizona, US.[9][10][11]
