Biography

Ethel was born in 1910. She passed away in 2003.

Original Cousin as at February, 2001 only 9 left. Peggy LOVELL emailed me to say that she found that her mother's birth was registered at St. Peters in Sydney.

Peggy emailed me later on to say . . . . As you can see this is a very old photo, a copy, passed onto me a few years back by Ken Hansen (son of Charles, grandson of Arch). He said that it was given to him by "someone" at one of the first family reunions held. Now I have passed it onto my brother Ray, the Morans and the Walkers, no one had seen or heard of Theodore working in a timber camp. We just knew him as marine, and working on the wharves. Recently I obtained Amy Hansen's birth cert...1896. Her mother was Eleanor Larkin (Theodore's first wife) and I was surprised to find that she was born at Dural, and Theodore's occupation fruit grower. Theodore was naturalised in 1891, so some time after this he has got the block at Dural , as we know that "foreigners" had to be naturalised before they could own land, and at this time the two main things in Dural were timber and citrus, so it is possible in this area that the photo was taken. I wish someone knew. By the time Arch was born 1900 Theodore and Eleanor had moved back to Leichhardt. and Theodore was working on the wharves. Moving on we know that Victor & Elsie (Eliza two eldest ) were born in the Sydney area. After Theodor and Eliza had moved to Dural in 1908, it seems that Eliza or Doll as she was known would go to one of her siblings for the birth of children. My siblings (Ray & Dot) tell me that my mum Ethel, b. 1910 was born at Marrickville. Can you tell me which of the family lived at Marrickville at that time? (It was Sarah Ann). We are trying to put the pieces together, and it is hard if you don't known to start with. Any info or help I would appreciate and pass on to Dorothy, ( she is the published author in our family) Cheers for now. Waller Family Newsletter #26 dated December, 2011 reported that Peggy and her sister Dot have put together Mum's story...we have gathered photos to go in it......so when we get to print it hopefully this year (before we all drop off the perch) I will get a copy to you. Everyone has a story.

There is no record of this person at Macquarie Park.
