Biography

Joanna Hanson was b, probably at Saint Andrews, NB, 26 Dec 1788 (calculated from reported age at death), [1] bp at All Saints Church, Saint Andrews, NB, 15 Sep 1790, the daughter of John Hanson and Elizabeth Clark, d at Chester, ME, 5 Feb 1852, ae 63y 2m 15d; m at Saint Andrews, NB, 10 Mar 1806, James Libby Scott, b c1783 (from age at death), probably at Machias, ME, the son of John Scott and Fanny Thompson, d at Chester, ME, 11 Nov 1850, ae 67y;.[2] James and Joanna reportedly moved to Chester in 1824. [3] In Jan and Jun 1822, James and Joanna sold two lots of land in Saint George, NB, on the eastern side of the Magaguadavic River, one consisting of 100 acres, the other including all houses and barns.
