Biography

~~Rev James Bird Hanson was born 10 January 1814 at Clarksville County Georgia. His parents were Enoch Allen Hanson Sr. and Cindarilla Ruby (Barber) Hanson

~~James was by trade a Fire and Life Insurance Salesman.

~~James Bird Hanson married Pamelia Freeman 25 September 1836 age Monroe County Georgia.

~~On 8 October 1850 James age 36 and wife Permelia C. Hanson age 37 were living at Pike County Georgia. Their children were James A. Hanson age 11, John F. Hanson age 9, Susannah W. Hanson age 5 and Isaac N. Hanson age 2.

~~On 8 October 1850 James Had one female slave age 16 color Black.

~~On 13 June 1860 James age 46 and wife Permelia C Hanson age 46 lived at Zebulon, Pike County Georgia. Their children were; James A. Hanson age 20, John F. Hanson age 19, Susannah W. Hanson age 14, Isaac N Hanson age 12, Henry C. Hanson age 8 and Mary C. Hanson age 3.

~~On 8 August 1870, James age 56 and wife Permelia Hanson age 56 were living at Barnesville, Pike County Georgia. They had one child Mary C. Hanson age 14 at home. Also living with them was book keeper Charles Baer age 27 from Germany and Martin King white domestic servant from Georgia.

~~On 15 June 1880, James age 66 lived with wife Permelia C. Hanson age 67 at Barnesville, Pike County Georgia. They had one married child living with them, Susanan W. (Hanson) Lambdin age 34, a son-in-law Alexandria M. Lamdin, and two grandchildren, Alice M. Lambdin age 7 and Asbury Lambdin age 1. They also had one Black Servant Child age 12 living in their household.

~~Rev James Bird Hanson died 21 January 1885.

~~Rev James Bird Hanson is buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Barnesville, Lamar County Georgia.[1]
