Margaretha Happel was born 13 September 1866 in Grimm, Russia, to parents Peter Happel and Elisabeth Schäfer. She married Johann Friedrich Schuppe by 1885 and their first child was born the following year.
Head of the Household Johann Friedrich Schuppe, age 34
Wife Margaretha [Happel] Schuppe, age 32
Child #1 Friedrich Schuppe, age 10
Child #2 Johann Georg Schuppe, age 5
Child #3 Heinrich Schuppe, age 2
When Katharina Margaretha immigrated with their children and other family members to the United States, her husband was not traveling with them. While it's possible that he immigrated to the United States first and then sent for his family once he was settled, his wife is recorded in the 1920 and 1930 census as living with her son Fred, and her husband is never mentioned. It seems more likely that Johann Friedrich Schuppe passed away before his family left for the United States.
