Research suggests that this person may never have existed. See the text for details.

Relationships between historical figures could have been simplified or even fabricated in the text to give the impression that succession remained within the same family.

Precise chronology is also difficult to assess from the Sagas. The conclusion must be that the tight family network described in the Sagas is unlikely to be correct and that the relationships shown below should be treated with considerable caution.

Thyra Hardsdatter was the daughter of Harald Gormsson VIII and married to Styrbjǫrn Sterki Olafson- but Harald appears to be duplicated so then Thyra is duplicated

Harald was son of Gorm den gamle (Gorm the old), ruler of Jelling, and his wife Thyra Dannebod. He named his daughter after his mum. He did not have a daughter called Sigrid. Spouses:

i) Gunhild ii) Thora (Tova) the daughter of Mistivir in 970. She raised the Sønder Vissing Runestone after her mother. iii) Gyrid Olafsdottir

Children:

i) Tyra of Denmark, married Styrbjörn the Strong. ii) Sweyn Forkbeard. Born about 960. Usually given as the son of Harald and Gunhild, though it is said in some of the older sagas that he was an illegitimate son. iii) Haakon. Born in 961(?) iv) Gunhilde. She married Pallig, Jarl and Ealdorman of Devonshire. It is thought that they both died in the St. Brice's Day massacre in November 1002. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harald_Bluetooth

It is doubtful they are the same person, and we should wait for more confirmation before merging Haraldsdottir-45 and Danemark-17

ready to merge Haraldsdottir-45 in PPP Danemark-17
posted by [Living Ogle]
The merge was proposed with Thyre Danmark (Haraldsdottir-45) because they have the same parents, but only one shows up in thepeerge.com. If they are not the same person, either a change in parents or a notation that there are two in the family with the same name should be made. They are most likely the same person with one having bad dates.

Haraldsdottir-45 and Danemark-17 do not represent the same person because: not same
