Categories: List of Norwegian Monarchs | Uncertain Existence.

THERE ARE PROBLEMS WITH THE DATES OF HIS PARENTS RELATIVE TO HIS BIRTH.

Research suggests that this person may never have existed. See the text for details.

Relationships between historical figures could have been simplified or even fabricated in the text to give the impression that succession remained within the same family….Precise chronology is also difficult to assess from the Sagas….The conclusion must be that the tight family network described in the Sagas is unlikely to be correct and that the relationships shown below should be treated with considerable caution. http://fmg.ac/Projects/MedLands/NORWEGIAN%20NOBILITY.htm

(fatally wounded in the Battle of Fitjar)

Third King of Norway

Birth: around 918 Håkon Hella Notes: Brought up in England by Royal Adalstein of England Death: 961 Battle of Fitjar Marriage with Unk

Children: Tora Håkon Daughter Personal History

954 The brother Eirik "Bloodaxe" Haraldsson door 954 Cumbria, England. 961 Death 961 Battle of Fitjar.

RULED CA. 933 TO 960. He is the son of King Harald I Fairhair and Thora Unknown. [1]

Son of Harald by servant woman in Harald's 70th year, he was raised by Athelstan in England, a sometime ally and sometime opponent of Harald. He returned to Norway and Erik and his family fled to Northumberland. Hakon proved a brilliant and successful king; regulated many things, public law among others. He drove back the Blue-tooth foster-son invasions every time they came; his greatest and continual trouble was that of extirpating heathen idolatry from Norway, and introducing the Christian Evangel in its stead.[2] Thanks to Sheri Sturm for starting this profile.
