William was born in 1854. He was the son of John Harbison, merchant. He attended Cookstown Academy, winning prizes in Algebra and Geometry. He married Matilda Teresa Muldoon, daughter of Bernard Muldoon, on 30 Apr 1884 at the Roman Catholic Chapel of Cookstown, County Tyrone, Ireland. He lived at 23 William Street Cookstown at least until 1911. He was a member of the United Irish League and the Irish Parliamentary Party. He passed away in 1933.
