Research Notes

Children by First Marriage

In Magna Carta Ancestry[2] and Royal Ancestry[7] Douglas Richardson states that Lettice was the mother of Humphrey Peshale's daughters Eleanor, Joan and Elizabeth. He has since revised his view and concluded that their mother was Humphrey's first wife, said to be Agnes Egerton. One major reason for this change of view is that the IPM of their brother Richard names two first cousins as Richard's heirs and next of kin.[5] This strongly suggests that Eleanor, Joan and Elizabeth were half-siblings of Richard: had they been full siblings, they would have been named as heirs of Richard.[8]

I am removing Magna Carta Project as profile manager following new information which indicates that Lettice was not mother of Eleanor Peshale https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Peshale-1. See Research Notes I have added.
