Ruby was born in 1915. She is the daughter of Elmer Hardenberger and Carrie Hudson.

Ruth R. Kirk, daughter of Elmer and Carrie (Hudson) Hardenburger, was born November 23, 1914 at Narka, KS. She passed away on Friday, May 29, 2009 at Park Villa Home in Clyde, KS.

Ruth graduated from Narka Rural High School with the class of 1933. She went to Cosmetology school in Topeka and obtained her license. Ruth was united in marriage to Wilbur Kirk on June 1, 1941. Ruth and Wilbur made their home and farmed four miles west of Narka until they moved to town. She continued fixing hair until she retired in May 2002.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wilbur in 1975; brother, Vern; sisters, Almira Erdtmann, Carlyn Tuma, Florence Milner, and Leona Blecha.

She is survived by her son, Stephen (Lori) Kirk; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at the Narka Presbyterian Church with Pastor Sally White and Mr. Henry Strnad officiating. Burial was in the Maple Grove Cemetery, rural Narka, KS.
