Mary Harding was born on March 19, 1725 in Medway, Norfolk, Massachusetts, daughter of Samuel Harding and Mary Cutler. ^{[1] [2]}

Mary Harding married John Ellis in Medway on July 10, 1749.^[3][4][5]

John Ellis died in Medway on May 22, 1769. His widow Mary lived on to age 83, dying in Medway on 17 Feb 1809.^[4]Mary died February 17, 1809 in Medway, ^[6] and is buried nearby in Millis. ^[7]
