Glen was born and raised on a farm a couple of miles NW of Garden City, SD. After graduating from Garden City High School he left the farm behind and drove with his cousin to Southern California. There he began a career as a machinist and married Bernice Lueders. His first son, Keith, was born i 1942. During WWII he served in the U.S. Army first as an Infantryman during the closing months of the war and then as an Escort Guard in Nuremburg during the trials. His second son, Kevin, was born in 1949 and they continued to live in California until 1960 when they moved to HIllsboro, OR. He maintained a life long interest in Ham Radio (call sign K7OMK), and all things mechanical especially repairing and reproducing antique clocks. He died in 2008 at the age of 89.
