Anne Harding was born in 1677 at Crowell, Oxfordshire (Millennium File information - to be confirmed).
Thomas Britnell, (age ~34) a carpenter of the parish of Chinnor, Oxfordshire, and Anne Harding, (age ~21), a maid servant of this parish, were married by licence on 22nd December 1698 at The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Crowell, Oxfordshire. This was Thomas' second marriage, his first wife having been buried just six months earlier.
Thomas and Anne went on to have four children who were all baptised at St Andrew's Church, Chinnor, Oxfordshire: Thomas 1700, William 1702 (he died in infancy), Susannah 1704, and Francis 1707 (he also died in infancy).
Anne's husband Thomas, now a prosperous yeoman of Crowell, Oxfordshire, age 72 but in good health, on 27th July 1737, marked and sealed his will. He was unable to sign his name. Thomas mentions his clock in his will. This would have been an unusual and high status household item at that time. He made provision for his wife, son, son-in-law, and grandchildren.
Thomas was buried, age 76, on 15th July 1740 at The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Crowell, Oxfordshire.
We have yet to find record of probate being granted to his will but it seems to have been enacted.
Anne died in 1745, age ~68, and she was buried on 25th November 1745 also at The Church of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Oxfordshire.
