Biography

Elizabeth Hardy's birth date, birth place, and mother is not clear and needs additional research. According to Sherrill Foster (cited by Remington) she was married to Joshua Garlick by 1664, which means she was born say by 1646 to be eighteen at her first wedding. Sources cited on her father's profile says he married Ann Husted in 1650, so if Elizabeth was born say 1646, she would be a child of Richard Hardy's unknown first wife, which is perhaps why a well meaning Wikitreer changed her place of birth to Concord, Massachusetts... Meanwhile, Richard Hardy was in Stamford, Connecticut in 1642.

"Elizabeth was married to Joshua Garlick by 1664. See Sherrill Foster, Remember and Joshua Garlick: Their Parents and Children," Suffolk County Historical Society Register 22(1997):98-103."[1]

"John Parsons... married at East Hampton, Long Island, New York 21 May 1679, Elizabeth (Hardy) Garlick, who died at Cape May, New Jersey, 1 May 1696, daughter of Richard Hardy and widow of Joshua Garlick, Jr. She married third, about 1694, John Fish, who died about six months after the wedding. John Parsons's account book is now at the Cape May County Historical Society."[2]
