William Walker Hardy was born 22 March 1872 in Jasper County, Georgia to Cornelius M. Hardy and Louisa Jane Lane.[1] When he was about five years old his parents moved their family to Bosque County, Texas, near other relatives who had moved there earlier.
On 5 Dec 1894 Walker married Dilcie Texana Burgan in Bosque County, TX.[2] They had ten known children together, though two of them died in infancy. Their children were:
By 1918 Walker had moved his family to Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma. He registered for the WWI draft there.[3] Walker stayed in that area for most of his life, except for a few years between 1930 and 1940 when he lived in Ozark, Polk County, Arkansas. He is found there on the 1940 U.S. census.[4] It isn't known why or exactly when he moved to Arkansas, but he returned to Lawton, OK after 1940.
Walker died in Lawton, OK on 27 Jan 1951[5] and was buried at Highland Cemetery in Lawton in the Hardy plot.[6][7]
