William Walker Hardy was born 22 March 1872 in Jasper County, Georgia to Cornelius M. Hardy and Louisa Jane Lane.[1] When he was about five years old his parents moved their family to Bosque County, Texas, near other relatives who had moved there earlier.

By 1918 Walker had moved his family to Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma. He registered for the WWI draft there.[3] Walker stayed in that area for most of his life, except for a few years between 1930 and 1940 when he lived in Ozark, Polk County, Arkansas. He is found there on the 1940 U.S. census.[4] It isn't known why or exactly when he moved to Arkansas, but he returned to Lawton, OK after 1940.

Walker died in Lawton, OK on 27 Jan 1951[5] and was buried at Highland Cemetery in Lawton in the Hardy plot.[6][7]
