In 1920, Wilford was living with his parents and three younger siblings in Fort Lowell, Pima, Arizona.[2]
The Hardy family continued to reside in Fort Lowell in 1930. Wilford's father was a farmer.[3]
By 1940, Wilford was married to Mary and had two sons, John and Thomas. Wilford was employed as a truck driver for a local dairy.[4]
