John was born in 1715. His parents were Thomas Hargett and Elizabeth Sleight. He was christened on 17 March 1715 at All Saints Church, Darfield, Yorkshire.[1][2]

John Hargate and Jane Cross married on 12 November 1737 in All Saints Church, Darfield, Yorkshire[1]

He passed away in 1753. He was buried in Darfield Church Yard on 25 October 1753.[1]
