John was baptised on 5 April 1840 in St Hilda, South Shields, Durham, England.[2] He may have had the name Page as his second name.
In the 1841 census John (age 2) was on Whitburn Street, Monkwearmouth, County Durham, England with his parents and older sister Mary.[3]
In the 1851 Census he was recorded as an Apprentice Ship Wright.
John married Frances Allen in 1863.
He may have died at see on 18 October 1865.
