Biography

According to Ray Hargrave's family reminiscences Beatrice was known to all the family as "Trixie" and was what some people would call a "live wire". As a young boy visiting Sydney he remembers meeting her and she always seemed to be bustling about. Trixie never married and after leaving home went to live in Sydney where she earned her living as a dressmaker. She was able to take two trips to England in the 1939s, first as a paid companion and later, after hard and careful saving, on her own. She was able to keep in touch with other members of the family and always knew who was doing what.
