Biography

1802, July 26 - Pulaski Co., KY. Lindsey Hardgrove was granted 200 acres on Pitman Creek in Pulaski Co., KY (Cert. #6 27 Jan. 1806 194 3/4 acres).

1803, January 11 - Pulaski Co., KY. Marriage to Elizabeth Moore. Presiding minister at his wedding to Elizabeth Moore was Thomas Hill. ) Pulaski County, KY Marriage Book 1, Page 8.

1804, February - Pulaski Co., KY. Information from "The Hargrove Family Study" by Mrs. Jack Beebe "In Feb. 1804 on the motion of Lindsey Hardgrove for leave to erect a water grist mill on Pitman Creek, he owning the lands on the one side thereof and it appearing to the court that this proprietor of the land on the opposite side is no inhabitant of this State against which the said Hardgrove wishes to abutt his dam, it is ordered that a writ of ________ issue to the sheriff commanding him to summon a legal jury to meet on the premises aforesaid on the 15th day of March next and there to view, examine and lay off the same as the law directs and make return thereof to the next court."

1813, October 5 - Rutherford Co., TN. - Bill/Sale Arthur Moore to Lindsey Hardgrove Negro girl Mary about four years old proven by Eldridge Loftin and James Higgins. Publication: Rutherford Co., Tennessee Co. Court Minutes 1811-1815 R929.37685 W453R 1994: (Page 80) - Tuesday, Oct 5th 1813 - p. 15. Also in Deed Book "G" - Rutherford County, TN. was lost, stolen or destroyed, presumably during the civil war. Page 85 - Lodwick Moore to Linzey Hargrove. (unknown date).

1815 - Madison Co., AL. He was taxed with Valentine Hartsgrove in Madison Co., AL (MS Territory).

1819-1825 - Lawrence Co., AL. Vol. I 1819-1832 p.36 Lindsey is the Justice of the Peace. In 1823 on March 3 he was again appointed Justice of the Peace. He resigned on November 24th, 1825

1827 - Lawrence Co., AL. In the "Loose Original Estate Papers" in "Valley Leaves" publication, Vol. 10 No. 2, Dec. 1975 issue, page 74: "1827, Feb 3rd - Visit 6 miles - Emet. and Cathar. - $4.00 1827, April 20th - Visit at Night 6 miles - $6.00 Pulv. Comp. in Cher. No. iiiiij $ .75 1827, Augt 19th - Tinct. opii 1 oz. - By W. O'Neil $ .50
