Biography

Erwin was born in 1903 to Samuel Hargrove and Alice Page. In 1921,Erwin left the family farm and moved to St. Joseph where he began work with the Consumer Credit Corp. Later, he became President of the American Union Life Insurance Company. He established and operated the Hargrove Advertising Agency, monitored several banks and was on the Board of the American National Bank in St. Joseph.

Erwin married Gladys France 4 DEC 1929.[1]

He retired once and spent some time in Florida but returned to St. Joseph, Missourri.[2] He was a cancer survivor and played golf. He had one son, Erwin, Jr., whose mother Gladys died when he was nine years old.

Erwin's second marriage was to Miss Virginia Knight. They married in December of 1940. He passed away in 2001.
