"Having given this brief sketch of the elder line of the family, we now return to Robert, second son of Sir Robert de Harington and Elizabeth de Multon his wife. Robert was under age when his father died, and remained in the care of his mother, who shortly afterwards married, secondly, Sir Walter de Bermyngham Knt. His share in the double inheritance consisted of lands in South Lincolnshire belonging to the Moulton estates, to which his mother in her life-time added a third part of the manor of Skirbeck. Robert de Haveryngton was returned as holding this third part in 1355, when the manor was said to be worth 20li. yearly [see Inq. p.m. 29 Edw. III, 2nd Nos. 63]. He was probably the first of his family to settle in Lincolnshire. Dying in 1399, he was succeeded by John his son and heir."[1]
