Hayes D. Harker, 60, former Waterloo Construction Company foreman, died at 10:45am Monday at his home at 932 2nd Street West.
Death followed a long illness of heart disease.
Mr. Harker was born December 30, 1876. He was married to Miss Kathryn Yeager on November 21, 1900, in Cedar Rapids. They had made their home in Waterloo for 23 years. Mr. Harker was a member of the Masonic lodge and of the First Methodist Episcopal church in Waterloo.
Surviving besides the widow are two daughters, Mrs. Robert Pollard and Miss Marjorie Harker, and a son, Eugene Harker, all of 932 2nd Street West; a brother, Thomas Harker, Platteville, Wisconsin; three sisters: Mrs. Charles Watters (sic), Platteville; Mrs. John Bonson, Spring Green Wisconsin, and Mrs. George Dent, Cuba City, Wisconsin; and a granddaughter, Patricia Jean Pollard. His parents, two brothers, and four sisters preceded him in death. The body was taken to the Kearns Garden chapel.
