To clarify any confusionLady Henrietta Cavendish Holles (1694–1755), was known by several names/titles: Firstly she was known as Lady Henrietta Cavendish Holles, 1694-1713, then after marriage she was Lady Henrietta Cavendish Harley, 1713-1724. When her husband succeeded his father as the 2nd Earl of Oxford, she became Countess of Oxford. CHILDREN:

Edward inherited his father's title and became the 2nd Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer, F.R.S., D.C.L.

Sir Edward Harley was a bibliophile, collector and patron of the arts, and took little interest in public affairs. He was the founder of the Harleian Library and extended his father's library to enlarge the Harleian Collection, [5] which is now in the British Library.
