Ellen (Harlock) Clout was born in Benenden, Kent, England.

Eleanor Harlock was baptised on October 25, 1711 at St George Church in Benenden, Kent, England, daughter of David Harlock and Margaret Durtnall.[1] She was known as Ellen.

Ellen married William Clout on November 13, 1734 by licence at St George, Beneden. At the time of their marriage both were living in Benenden.[2]

Together they had the following children:

  1. Ellen Clout (1735– )
  2. William Clout (before 1736– )
  3. Elizabeth Clout (1738–1770)
  4. Thomas Clout (1740–1800)
  5. John Clout (1741–1741)
  6. Fanny Clout (1742–about 1748)
  7. John Clout (1744–after 1795)

Ellen was buried on October 10, 1745 at St George's Church in Benenden.[3][4]
