Hi Benjamen

How is it going so far, were the How-Tos pages helpful or did they leave you with questions?

Clicking your green tags will show other members who follow that tag. Add tags for locations, Country, County or topic of interest. The more tags you add the more links to community & research options Information on tags is on page one of the How To pages.

We want to help you learn about the site and the community, hopefully you found the pages and links useful. I have page one bookmarked for reference page

Welcome Benjamin. My Harmon brick wall is around 1749 in VA or NC. He pops up as a father and disappears again. But he was regarded as a Portuguese seafarer. My father has had DNA tested. Both Family Finder and YDNA (which would be Murchison instead of Harmon). But if you or any family members would like to compare Family Finder DNA with my father, send me a private note and we will see if we have a common ancestor and about what the distance would be. It may be a starting point. Good luck! Also there are quite a few Harmons associated with the Nansemond indian Tribe. Welcome again Cyndie Goins Hoelscher

Hello Benjamen, and welcome to WikiTree! The initial email from us has helpful links that will get you started on WikiTree, which is not like any genealogy site you’ve ever used.

WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, and that means we all work together as a BIG collaborative team!

When you confirm your email address, you’ll have an opportunity to become a member of WikiTree. Just add a Tag for each family name or place you are researching. Then click the “Post Tags and Volunteer” button. One of our Greeters will be happy to confirm your membership.

WikiTree is an exciting and growing community and we are really glad you decided to join us.
