WEDDING BELLS ROBSON - HARMAN
The Rev. J. Tainton officiated at the wedding of Alma Rose, third daughter of Mr and Mrs J. H. Harman, Hartley Street, to Robert James, elder son of Mr and Mrs G. R. Robson, Cavill Street, which was celebrated at the Hartley Memorial Methodist Church at 7.15 p.m. last Friday.
The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a beautiful gown of ivory patterned Courtauld's satin crepe featuring a swathed neckline adorned with a diamente pin, long sleeves with points over her wrists, and a floor-length skirt extending into a train. Her veil of embroidered silk net was held in place with a matching coronet, and she carried a bouquet of dahlias, stephan-otis, and gladioli.
Miss Hilda Harman attended her sister as bridesmaid, and Miss Dacia Harker, niece of the bride, was the flower girl. They were dressed alike in ivory taffeta frocks, the blouses being softly gathered into sweetheart neck-lines. The floor-length skirts fell from uplift waistlines. Their small pill-box hats were trimmed with sprays of scarlet flowers. The bridesmaid carried a bouquet of dahlias, gladioli, and lilies arranged with croton leaves, and the flower girls bouquet was of dahlias, carnations, and lilliput zinnias. Mr E. J. Harker was best man.
The bride's mother wore clover sheer crepe with navy accessories, and the bridegroom's mother added white accessories to ber frock of floral Grafton sheer.
The wedding breakfast was held at the Buffalo Temple, Denison Street. When leaving to spend the honeymoon at the coast, the bride wore an imitation jumper suit of bouvary rose sheer crepe appliqued with sweetheart blue, and a blue hat to tone. [3]
