Research Notes

Joseph's baptism in the year of his death records his parents as John and Sarah Harman.

A John Harman marries Sarah Griffin on the 21st of June 1791 at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton.

John Harman of the parish of Badgeworth, bachelor and Sarah Griffin of this parish, spinster are married by license in the presence of William Harman

On the 24th of July in the same year a Thomas Hill marries Mary Griffin by license in the presence of Samuel Cosburn and John Harman. Mary is possibly Sarah Griffin's cousin and the John Harman in question may be Sarah's husband.

On April the 1st 1763 a John Harman is baptised at Holy Trinity Church in Badgeworth. He is the son of Samuel and Mary Harman of nearby Shurdington.

A Sarah Griffin is baptised on the 29th of May 1768 at Holy Trinity Church in Minchinhampton. She is the daughter of John and Martha Griffin.

Further research will focus on trying to confirm whether Joseph is the son of John Harman of Badgeworth and Sarah Griffin of Minchinhampton.
