In 1911 the family’s address was given as The Coppice, Lydbrook. Alfred, as named, was aged 14. [3]
Alfred John Harman, as named, married Florence Knight in 1924 at the Baptist Chapel, Lydbrook. [4]
This couple had two sons named Kenneth Alfred Harman born 1925 and Osborne John Harman born 1932.
Son Osborne John Harmen [sic] died in 1936 aged 3 years. [5]
The 1939 Register, taken on 29 September 1939, has been described as a snapshot of the civilian population of England and Wales just after the outbreak of the Second World War. The Register recorded each person's address, date of birth and occupation.
At that time Alfred J W, as named, and Florence were residing at The Bungalow, Coalway, West Dean Rural District, Gloucestershire. Alfred, born 2 April 1897, was aged 42. He was working as a carpenter and joiner. Florence, born 1 November 1898, was aged 40. Son Kenneth, born 9 October 1925, was aged 13. He was still at school. [6]
William A J Harman died in 1966 aged 68 years. [7]

Alf, Florence and son Osborne were all buried at Lydbrook Baptist Chapel. [10]
