Biography

Died of smoke inhalation in a fire at his home.

Ed was a brilliant man with an estimated IQ of 180. He was a graduate of Georgia Institute of Technology (GA Tech) with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.

He later obtained a technical certificate in computers. He spent most of his adult life as a tier 3 computer technical consult for hardware for one of the departments of the State of GA. He worked remotely for the majority of his time with them. We used to laugh about him working from home in his underwear. Occasionally, he would have to dress and actually go to the site of the "trouble". I remember that his job also had a requirement of coming to the office on Fridays.

Ed was a lonely man. Like many with such a high IQ, his social abilities were poor. He never married and never had a serious girlfriend, to my knowledge. His problems with alcohol began in his 20's and followed him to his death.
