Biography

The identity of "Unknown Son" Harmon has been a mystery. A recent search of Ancestry.com family trees for his mother, Frances B Miller, wife of William James Burns, indicated that her eldest child was a "Grant Burns." Subsequent vital records for him variously show his father as being named "Daniel" (no surname) "Daniel Sterling" and "Daniel B. Harmon." I presume at this point that Grant Burns is indeed Grant Harmon.

Unproven speculation exists that the child was born "Ulysses Grant Harmon."
