Biography

Alexander C. Harmon was born on August 14, 1827 in Boyle County, Kentucky. He was the son of Jacob Harmon and Elizabeth Pipes.

In 1840, Alexander C. Harmon was living with his family in Mercer County, Kentucky. About 1845, the family moved to Sullivan County, Missouri.

Alexander C. Harmon married Margaret Tharp on October 8, 1846 in Sullivan County, Missouri. She was the daughter of John Allen Tharp & Nancy Chinesa Elliott.

In September, 1850, Alexander C. Harmon & Margaret Tharp were farming in Pleasant Hill Township, Sullivan County, Missouri. They had one child:

  • Mary Josephine Harmon (1829-1904)

In October, 1856, Alexander C. Harmon purchased 40 acres of land in Sullivan County, Missouri.

Alexander C. Harmon died on October 14, 1901 in Sullivan County, Missouri. He was 74 years old. He was buried in Knifong Cemetery, Sullivan County, Missouri,
