Anne C(K)athrine Dorothee Elisabeth Harms was born on September 14, 1859 in Römstedt, Uelzen, Kingdom of Hannover, daughter of Johann Heinrich Harms (~1810–~1865) and Anna Elizabeth (Pletterich) Harms (1830-1865).

When Anna Katharine Dorothee Elizabeth Harms was born on September 14, 1859, in Römstedt, Lower Saxony, Germany, her father, Johann, was 38, and her mother, Anna, was 28. She married Henry H Smith on March 26, 1877, in Olney, Missouri. They had five children during their marriage. She died on October 13, 1937, in Millwood, Missouri, at the age of 78, and was buried in Olney, Missouri. [1]
