Sara's parents, Peter Harms / Eva Bartel, were part of a group of five Harms brothers (Gerhard, Peter, Johann, Heinrich & Isaac) and one sister, Catharina (Harms) Kliewer, that moved from the Weisshof area to the Michalin area circa 1802-1812. The village-church group mostly remained in Michalin until 1874 when they emigrated to the USA and settled near Whitewater, Kansas.
