CARSON HARNEY (1823-1901)

Born June 1823 in Indiana, the son of Riley Harney and Letitia (Ray). Carson married Nancy Ann Pierce (1832-1917), who was born in Tennessee, and they had seven known children:

  • Margaret, (b.1852);
  • Harriet VAN FOSSEN (b.1853);
  • Madison Frank (1856-1927);
  • Lucinda Jennie (b.1859);
  • Martha A. (b.1868);
  • Nathaniel G. (1873-1920) single; and
  • Gertrude Harney (Mrs. George A.) BRUNER.

All were born in Indiana. Carson, a farmer, died of heart disease on 3 June 1901, at age 77, and is buried in the Martin Cemetery, Parke County, Indiana, but has no grave marker.
