Miner B Harney, sometimes spelled Harny, Harvey or Horney on various records. Miner aka Minor was born in Tipton county, Indiana, the son of Solomon Harney and Mary Ann Folsom. Birth and death records have not been located. He was born between 1847 and 1849.
The 1850 Census shows him as Miner Harney, age 1, which would mean he was born about 1849. [1] The 1860 Census puts Miner's age at 13, being born about 1847. [2] In 1870, the census shows him to be 22 years old.
Miner married Susan/Susannah Marshall, dau of Benjamin, on 11 Apr 1871 in Hamilton Co. IN. Her father was a Justice of the Peace in Curtisville IN and a wealthy sawmill owner.

They appear on the 1880 Census in Madison township, Tipton county, Indiana.
A family account indicates Miner died in 1883 from a lingering illness in Curtisville IN. His grave only marked by the stump of a tree. No record has been found.
In 1886, on 11 March, Susannah (Marshall) Harney married Albert T. Snook (1859-1933). Mr. Snook, known as Bert, was step-father to Ora A. Harney.

Miner B Harney has a nephew also named Miner Harney (b.1870). He is the son of Miner Harney's brother, James R Harney and his first wife Sarah Shipley of Rush county, Indiana. Care must be taken not to confuse the two men with the same name.
